CFYT News and Events
Broadcasting LIVE from DCMF
Once again, CFYT will suspend it’s regular weekend programming so that you can enjoy the mainstage performances of the Dawson City Music Festival. Not only will you hear the venue’s audio over 106.9fm and the Rolling Ads channel 11, but Dawson Cable channel 12 will also feature a live video image of the mainstage from inside the main DCMF tent!
DCMF is often sold out, but CFYT comes to your rescue, July 17-19!
CFYT Radi-O-Thon 2009
We’ve set the tentative date of Thursday, July 9th for a 12-hour Radi-O-Thon from noon to midnight.
The fundraiser will take the form of a fun 12-hour day featuring 12 different hosts (one hour slots each ideally). We’ve got lots of ideas for ways to raise money during your hour, and we’ll also be giving away lots of prizes throughout the day, hosting tons of contests, and selling hot dogs! Now all we need is….YOU!
If you are interested in hosting a show during the 1st ever CFYT Radi-O-Thon and helping us raise some needed bucks, or if you are interested in helping during the day off-air, please come by the station during office hours, Monday to Thursday, 9-5, or email cfytradio@hotmail.com.
To get a slot for the Radi-O-Thon, you have to have shown up at one of the fundraising meetings. If for some reason you couldn’t make the meetings, but want to help out during the event, please email cfytradio@hotmail.com ASAP.
We’re looking to raise $2000 bucks, and we even plan on having prizes for the djs who raise the most money! Help out and have fun at the same time.
Remote Broadcasting Equipment
The remote broadcast equipment is operational, and many of us have gone through the training. If you haven’t, get a hold of the station manager or a board member, and we’ll try and work something out. Full policies and paperwork are being finalized for use of the remote gear, but it will be prominent in many of the summer’s upcoming events. If you have any other ideas for the gear, also contact the station manager.
New Gear Update
CFYT Radio is pleased to announce that thanks to the gracious support of the City of Dawson Community Grants Fund and in-kind donations from Unitech, we have recently installed new speakers, headphones, tape deck, and an amplifier in the station. Be prepared to rock out!
