The Berton House Writer’s Retreat is a year-round residency for professional Canadian writers in the restored boyhood home of Pierre Berton in Dawson City, Yukon. Owned and operated by the Writers’ Trust of Canada with support from the Klondike Visitors Association and the Dawson City Community Library.

She’s currently a creative writing mentor with the Writers’ Exchange in Vancouver.

Clem Martini is an award winning playwright, novelist, and screenwriter, and the Chair of Drama in the School of Creative and Performing Arts at the University of Calgary.
Colleen Murphy – August 2013
Colleen Murphy is a screenwriter, film director and playwright. Notable works include the plays Beating Heart Cadaver and the Governor-General’s-Award-winning The December Man as well as the Genie-Award-nominated film screenplay for Termini Station.
James Fitzgerald – December 2013
James Fitzgerald is a freelance writer, editor, and award-winning author based in Toronto. He spent 10 years working in the book publishing field and 15 years as a journalist.

Lawrence Hill is the author of ten books including the novels The Book of Negroes and The Illegal, and the non-fiction books Blood: the Stuff of Life, and Dear Sir, I intend to Burn your Book: An Anatomy of a Book Burning.
